Before Arriving

  • A full itinerary must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the retreat.
  • A deposit of $500 must be submitted to reserve your spot at Camp Good News. This will be held as a security deposit and returned to you after the retreat. Any damage incurred will come out of that deposit. If you choose to cancel your retreat the $500 check will be forfeited over to Camp Good News
  • All agreements and transactions must be submitted in writing. (Email is acceptable.)
  • A copy of the sponsoring groups insurance must be supplied.

 

Arrival

  • At Check In, report how many people are in your group. This includes all leaders, campers, & children.
  • Payment is due upon arrival.

 

Leadership

  • Sponsors must maintain supervision of all members of their group.
  • All sponsors must be at least 18 years old.
  • There must be a ratio of 1 sponsor to 10 minors at all times.

 

Meals Times

  • Breakfast: 8:00
  • Lunch: 12:00
  • Dinner: 5:30
  • After meals, have campers throw away all trash and wipe the tables down.
  • Any missed meal falling between the assigned meal times will be charged.

 

Activities

  • All activities (including camp fires) must be scheduled ahead of time.
  • No one is allowed to be at activities unless there is a representative of Camp Good News with them.
  • A group sponsor must accompany each activity.
  • The number of activities we will open at a given time will be directly reflective of the number of guests.

 

Waterfront

  • All guests must wear a life vest when participating in any activity involving the lake.
  • All water activities will have a Certified Red-Cross lifeguard present - supplied by Camp Good News.
  • A group sponsor must be present at all water activities.

 

First Aid

  • The group shall be responsible for first aid and emergency care, supplies, and transportation.
  • The group shall be responsible to supply their own nurse certified in advanced first aid, or have an LVN,RN, or EMT license.

 

Miscellaneous

  • All use of Camp Good News property should receive prior permission before the retreat.
  • Any equipment damaged or lost should be paid for before the retreat leaves the campgrounds.
  • The buildings including but not limited to the cabins and the assembly hall should be left neat and clean.
  • Camp Good News or its staff is not responsible for retreat guests’ property.
  • Alcoholic beverages, firearms, fireworks, pets, and raiding cabins are strictly prohibited .

 

Statement of Faith

  • We believe that the Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16)
  • We believe in one God, eternally in three persons; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Matt. 28:19)
  • We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 1:20)
  • We believe that man was created in the image of God, but he sinned, and therefore will be eternally separated from God without the blood of Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:12)
  • We believe that Jesus Christ died for the sins of man and was resurrected on the third day. Now all who believe in Him are cleansed by His blood and will spend eternity in the presence of God. (Colossians 1:12-22)
